Flea market!

(This was actually awhile ago…I’m behind on my posts again)

One day, I went out to get some food, and right outside of campus I saw this:

That seemed odd, apparently they had shut down the road, so I started biking on the sidewalk

20 feet later, I saw this:

Woah! It was a bona fide flea market!

It’s hard to express just how cool this was. It’s like…a sort of community event that I wish I’d seen more of back in the states.

Here’s a bunch of pictures:

Dude was selling french fries in cups. How cool is that?

there were kids kicking soccer balls at this, I think

cotton candy, I think

Disney is apparently everywhere

Spirited Away!

I met some friends selling stuff

I got this clock and a sweatshirt for FREE. The clock broke, but the sweatshirt is fine (not that I need one in summer, but, ya know...)

I bought this little Pikachu thing for 10 Yen (10 cents), and I got a random piano CD

Eventually, they let the cars in and closed the market. I was sad to see it end.

Would you mind buying me a cup of hot chocolate? I'd really appreciate it!

    Dear Jimmy,

Flea markets are fun indeed. I like your Pika-Pika Pikachu. :D

    Warm regards,

It's like a whole bunch of yard sales happening in the same place at the same time.

…and yet, on the right side of Spirited Away is the most depressing anime movie ever made.

For those of you who don’t recognize it right away by the picture, that is Hotaru no Haka, also known as Grave of the Fireflies.

(On a more macabre note, if you ever feel like killing yourself but don’t have the motivation, watch this first.)
