You might not know this, but the internet has a basic idea of where you are. Some websites use this info so that, for instance, people logging on from Japan see everything in Japanese. But this is annoying if (like me) you can’t really read Japanese.

/
/So here’s the special link to get Google in English: http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en
/
/
/
/(If you use Google as your homepage, change the homepage to match that link. Though personally I prefer DuckDuckGo anyway, for privacy reasons)
/
/
/
/If you want to buy something from Amazon, you can still visit the regular Amazon.com
/
/
/
/But there’s a separate store/site (managed by the same company) called Amazon.co.jp . You may prefer that one, because it ships locally to Japan (as opposed to regular Amazon which will charge you international shipping rates for the privilege.). To get Amazon.co.jp in English, go here: http://www.amazon.co.jp/In-English/b?ie=UTF8&node=1094656
/
/
/
/(By the way, Amazon.co.jp has a much smaller selection than the regular kind)
/
/
/
/If you want to visit Hulu, you’re out of luck. As of this writing, they don’t allow anyone in Japan to watch anything.
